I
guess I am quite justified in being so discouraged.
My
situation must surely suggest that God is indifferent to my
plight. Would God permit such trials and unhappiness to come
upon someone whom He loves?
`When
Satan comes to you, and tells you that because you are
unhappy, perplexed, and troubled, you are not a child of God,
do not become discouraged for one moment, but gird up the
loins of your mind. Let your heart find peace in God.
He has promised that if you come to Him, you will find rest to
your soul; and if you have done this, rest assured that He
will fulfill His word to you.' (TMK 245)
`It
should not be difficult to remember that the Lord desires you
to lay your troubles and perplexities at His feet, and leave
them there.' (TM 519)
`In
every emergency we should feel that the battle is His.' (PK 202)
`In
the way that leads to the city of God there are no
difficulties which those who trust in Him may not overcome.
There are no dangers which they may not escape. There is not a
sorrow, not a grievance, not a human weakness, for which He
has not provided a remedy.' (MH 249)
`Not
one that in penitence and faith has claimed His protection
will Christ permit to pass under the enemy's power. The
Saviour is by the side of His tempted and tried ones. With Him
there can be no such thing as failure, loss, impossibility, or
defeat, we can do all things through Him who strengthens us.'
(DA490)
`Nothing
is impossible with God. Nothing is so entangled that it cannot
be remedied: No human relationship is too strained for God to
bring about reconciliation and understanding: No habit so deep
rooted that it cannot be overcome: No one is so weak that he
cannot be strong: No one is so ill that he cannot be healed.
No mind is so dull that it cannot be made brilliant. Whatever
we need, if we trust God He will supply it.' (RH 10-07-65)
